Modifying User Permissions

User roles define the amount of access and permissions a Lytics user has when they are logged in and through the Lytics APIs.

User roles

A user may have any number of these roles, and the permissions for multiple roles are additive, that is a user with the Campaign Manager and Content Manager roles will have access to all permissions granted by both roles.

Users with the Admin role have access to control other users roles within your organization via the "Manage Users" option from the account dropdown menu.

Managing Personally Identifiable Information (PII)

It is important to control who has access to PII in your account. These are the steps to fully prevent a user from seeing PII fields.

1. Account Settings: Update your private fields account setting. These fields will be hidden to anyone that is not an Admin or Data Manager. You may want to verify with [email protected] that field hiding in segment scan is also enabled for your account.

2. User Permissions: PII appears in various portions of the UI. To fully block access to this information, the following permissions and roles should be disabled:

  • Admin
  • Audience Manager
  • Campaign Manager
  • Data Manager
  • Marketer
  • Observer
  • User Search

What does a user of each role have access to?

A user's role determines what parts of the Lytics app they have access to. Here is a breakdown of what is shown in the navigation for each role.
